In short
Reprogramaciones MBV comes to homes, garages and businesses anywhere in the Community of Madrid (the Madrid region). Away from the workshop we do the jobs that can be done through the diagnostic socket: many remaps, diagnostics, key programming depending on the system, coding, activations and most no-start problems. Jobs that require removing and opening an ECU (engine control unit), such as boot-mode reads, cloning or instrument cluster repairs, are done at the workshop in Alcalá de Henares. On site we need the vehicle accessible and stationary, ideally under cover, with its keys and a healthy battery. We give you the cost of the call-out in the quote, before you confirm.
Where we go
Anywhere in the Community of Madrid:
- To your home, if you're a private customer: to your parking space, your plot or wherever the car is kept.
- To your garage, if you're in the trade and the job is electronics work you don't do. We explain it on garages.
- To your business: premises, showroom or vehicle yard, with one or several vehicles. See fleets and used-car dealers.
There are no areas with fixed days: each call-out is arranged with its own appointment. More detail on service area.
What can be done where the car is and what can't
One question draws the line: does any unit have to be removed and opened? If everything is done through the diagnostic socket or with the unit in place, we come to you. If it has to be opened, soldered or worked on at the bench, it's a workshop job.
| Job | Wherever the car is | At the workshop in Alcalá |
|---|---|---|
| Remap with a read through the diagnostic socket | Yes | Also |
| Remap of ECUs that can only be read opened | Yes | |
| Electronic diagnostics | Yes | Also |
| No-start problems | Yes, that's the usual way | If the car can get there |
| Key programming | Depending on the vehicle's system | Yes |
| Coding and activations | Yes | Also |
| ECU and BSI cloning | Yes, the units normally have to be opened | |
| Instrument cluster repair | Yes |
When you message us with the vehicle and the job, we tell you which column your case falls into before we arrange anything.
What we need to find when we arrive
On site
- The vehicle
- Stationary, accessible from both sides and with room to open the bonnet and doors
- The keys
- All of them, including any that don't work, if it's a key job
- Cover
- Ideally under a roof; we don't work with equipment connected out in the open when it's raining
- Battery
- In good condition; if you suspect it's weak, let us know
- Power
- A mains socket near the vehicle. We don't bring our own power supply, so without a socket we can't work
- Access
- Permission to enter the car park, premises or site, and someone to let us in
Why we ask so many questions before coming out
Turning up somewhere and not being able to do the job is time wasted for both of us. So, before confirming, we ask you for:
- Make, model, engine and year: that tells us which ECU it has and how it's read.
- The job or the symptom: so we know whether it can be done through the diagnostic socket or something will have to be opened.
- The town and the exact location: home, car park, premises, street.
- When the vehicle is available: to agree the day. We come out Monday to Friday, 8:00–14:00 and 16:00–19:30 (closed on Saturday and Sunday), and appointments are booked 48 hours in advance; if it's urgent, it can be dealt with the same day for an extra charge that we'll tell you when you ask.
Private or trade: what changes on the visit
The technical work is the same, but the visit is organised differently:
- At a private customer's home we usually come for a single car. What helps most is having the car somewhere we can work undisturbed and a good description of the symptom: "the warning light came on during a cold start" tells us far more than "it's got a fault".
- At a garage, the car has usually been partly diagnosed already. Telling us what's been checked and which parts have been replaced saves repeating tests. We explain it on garages.
- At business premises or a showroom there are usually several vehicles. With a list in advance we group together the ones that can be done there and set aside the ones that would need to come to the workshop.
When the car can't be moved
This is the case where it makes most sense for us to come out: a car that cranks but won't start, a lost key or a vehicle in limp mode that's best not moved. Before coming out we'll ask you a few questions by phone or WhatsApp (what it does when you turn the key, whether the warning lights come on, whether anything was touched beforehand) so we bring what's needed. Sometimes, from those answers, we already know the problem isn't electronic and you save yourself the visit.
Cost of the call-out
The call-out is quoted individually for each customer, depending on where the vehicle is, and we include it in the quote, alongside the price of the job and before confirming the visit. That way you know what you'll pay before we set off. Starting prices for jobs are on prices.
Tell us the vehicle, what you need and where it is. We'll tell you whether it can be done there and the price including the call-out.
