In short
Reprogramaciones MBV does the electronics jobs that independent garages don't usually do themselves: engine ECU and BSI cloning, keys when all have been lost, instrument cluster repair, diagnosis of difficult electronic faults, no-start solutions, automatic gearbox adaptations and ECU remapping. We come to your garage with our equipment, take the car or the unit in at our workshop in Alcalá de Henares or, if you have the tools, work through file service or remote coding. We work for your garage: we discuss the diagnosis and the job with you. The price is on request depending on the job. We serve garages in the Community of Madrid.
The jobs an independent garage usually passes on
You'll probably recognise them. They're jobs where the mechanical diagnosis is clear, but the solution needs equipment, software or experience that isn't worth having in every garage:
| What you see in your garage | What's behind it | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Engine ECU damaged by water or a short circuit | It has to be replaced and the new one won't start the car | ECU cloning |
| Lights, central locking or battery drain failing for no apparent reason | Faulty comfort module (BSI) | BSI cloning |
| The customer has lost all their keys | Programming new keys into the immobiliser | Keys |
| Instrument cluster display with dead pixels or needles that stop | Internal cluster fault | Instrument cluster repair |
| Intermittent fault that leaves no clear code | Data from several control units needs reading and cross-checking | Electronic diagnostics |
| Engine cranks but won't start after a unit has been replaced | Immobiliser or coding still to be done | No-start solutions |
| Automatic gearbox jerking after a repair | Adaptations or software in the TCU (transmission control unit) | Automatic gearboxes |
| Your customer wants a remap | Developing the file for their engine | ECU remapping |
Three ways of working together
We come to your garage
The car doesn't leave your premises. You tell us the vehicle and the fault, we agree a day and we work there. It's the most convenient option for keys, no-starts and jobs done through the diagnostic port. We explain the conditions we need in mobile service.
You bring us the car or the unit
When an ECU has to be removed and opened or an instrument cluster repaired, our workshop in Alcalá de Henares is the best place. You can bring the whole car or just the removed unit, labelled with the vehicle it came from. You can also send us units by courier, or we'll come and collect them.
You do it and we supply the software
If your garage has read/write tools, our file service lets you carry out remaps with files developed by us. If you have a diagnostic interface, remote coding handles coding and adaptations without anyone having to travel.
What helps us go straight to the problem
When you call us about a car
- Vehicle
- Make, model, engine, year and VIN if it's a key or a unit
- Fault code reading
- Whatever you've got, even if it doesn't tell you much
- What's already been done
- Parts changed and tests carried out, so we don't repeat them
- Units
- Part numbers of the faulty ECU and the replacement one, if there is one
- Keys
- How many are left and whether any of them work
- Urgency
- Whether the customer needs the car by a specific date
The job belongs to your garage
When a car comes to us through you, we work for your garage and we deal with you: we tell you the diagnosis and the price, and you decide with your customer. You're still the one who hands the finished car back to them.
- Invoice: we invoice whoever you tell us to, in your company's name or directly to your customer.
- Your customer stays yours: we commit to you in writing not to approach them.
- Payment: cash, Bizum (Spanish instant bank payment), card or bank transfer; if you're going to send us work regularly, terms and volume pricing are agreed case by case.
How to explain it to your customer
Your customer trusts you, not us, so we give you what you need to explain it properly:
- What was wrong with the car and what's been done, in words you can repeat without jargon. The invoice describes the work, and we also provide a document of the work carried out, which your customer can use, for example, for their insurer.
- The price before we start, so you can pass it on with your margin and they can decide.
- What they need to know afterwards: whether a cloned ECU needs any further adaptation, whether a new key replaces the previous ones or whether a remap affects the ITV or the insurance.
When we'll tell you it's not for us
- Purely mechanical faults: if the problem is a turbo or a pump, you'll sort it out better and more cheaply yourself.
- Cars where the mileage is meant to be altered: we don't tamper with odometers.
- Deletes on road cars: we only do them on competition vehicles or vehicles that aren't used on public roads, as we explain in deletes.
- Units that aren't compatible: if the replacement ECU doesn't match the vehicle, we tell you before you pay for us to try.
Price
Work for garages is price on request, depending on the vehicle and the job, and we give you the price before we start so you can pass it on to your customer. The starting prices we publish are on prices.
Tell us the vehicle, the fault and what's already been tried. We'll tell you whether we can solve it, where it's best to do it and the price.
