In short
If you are a private customer, you can message us on WhatsApp with your car's make, model and year and what is wrong or what you are after: more pull, lower fuel consumption, a new key, a warning light that will not go off or a car that will not start. Before touching anything, we tell you whether it can be done, whether it makes sense for you and what it costs. Before writing to the ECU, we save the original software so it can go back to stock. Remaps start from from €200 + VAT (€242 including VAT); all other work is price on request. We do it at our workshop in Alcalá de Henares or we come to wherever your car is, within the Community of Madrid.
What we can sort out for you, depending on what is happening
You do not need to know the technical name of anything. Find the sentence in the table that is closest to your case and open the page that explains the job:
| What you tell us | What is usually behind it | Where we explain it |
|---|---|---|
| "It feels flat when overtaking or on hills" | A turbo engine with untapped headroom | Stage 1 |
| "I drive a lot and want to use less fuel" | A tune designed for everyday use, not for speed | Eco remap |
| "A warning light has come on and I do not know what it is" | A fault code that needs interpreting, not just clearing | Electronic diagnostics |
| "I only have one key" or "I have lost them" | Programming a new key into the anti-theft system | Keys |
| "The engine turns over but will not start" | Immobiliser, ECU or power supply | No-start solutions |
| "The automatic gearbox is jerky" | Gearbox adaptations or software | Automatic gearboxes |
| "Half the instrument display has gone blank" | A fault in the instrument cluster itself | Instrument cluster repair |
| "I bought the car and I think it had been tampered with" | Software modified by a previous owner | Original software |
If your case is not here, message us anyway. The table covers what private customers ask us most, not everything we do: the rest is under services.
The four questions everyone has
Will anything happen to the engine?
A properly done remap works within what your car's components can take and does not disable their protections. The real risk is not usually in the file but in the condition of the car: a clutch that is already slipping or a turbo with play really will get worse with more torque. That is why, before writing anything, we read the faults on every control unit and tell you whether your car is fit for it.
Will the ITV find out?
The ITV (Spain's compulsory periodic vehicle inspection, similar to the UK MOT) does not measure power, but that does not mean any change is legal. If the modification changes data on your vehicle's technical data sheet (ficha técnica), it is a vehicle modification (reforma) that must be legalised. What we never do on a road car is remove emissions control systems: that does show up as a major defect. It is all explained, with the regulations, in legality, ITV and insurance.
Do I lose the manufacturer's warranty?
If your car is under warranty, the manufacturer can refuse to cover a fault it links to modified software. It does not automatically apply to the whole car, but the risk is there. If it worries you, the sensible thing is to wait until the warranty ends.
And the insurance?
The law requires you to tell your insurer about anything that increases the risk. If you do not and you have a claim, they may pay you less or nothing at all. Before remapping, ask your insurer how your policy treats that modification.
From your first message to driving away
You message us
on WhatsApp or using the quote form. The car and what you want or what is wrong with it are enough.
We reply with a proposal
what we would do, whether your car is a good candidate and a fixed price. If we need another detail, we ask.
We choose the place and day
at the workshop in Alcalá or wherever your car is, within the Community of Madrid. Appointments are booked 48 hours in advance.
We check before touching anything
fault reading and a condition check. If something turns up that changes the plan, we stop and tell you.
We do the work
with a saved copy of the original software whenever we write to an ECU.
We explain it at handover
what has been done and what you need to bear in mind from now on.
If you want to see the technical process in more detail, it is under how we work.
What we will tell you even if it is not what you expect
Many private customers arrive with an idea they read on a forum. Sometimes it is a good one and sometimes not. These are the cases where we will suggest something else:
- Your engine is naturally aspirated and you expect a clear difference: without a turbo, the headroom is small.
- The car has an outstanding fault: it gets repaired first; remapping on top of it only hides it for a while.
- You ask us to remove the particulate filter, the EGR or the AdBlue on a road car: we do not do it. We offer to diagnose why it is failing, which is what really solves it.
- You want the mileage changed: we do not do that either. It is fraud against whoever buys the car next.
Do you come to us or do we come to you?
Both are possible. Coming to the workshop in Alcalá de Henares makes sense if you live nearby or if the job requires removing an ECU; you can wait there and watch while we work. If you would rather not travel, or the car will not start, we come to your home, your garage or your workplace, as long as there is a power socket nearby. What can and cannot be done away from the workshop is explained under mobile service.
What it costs
Remaps start from from €200 + VAT (€242 including VAT). Cloning an engine ECU starts from from €100 + VAT (€121 including VAT). Neither includes the prior inspection. Everything else depends on the car and the job, so we give you a fixed price before we start. Why we do not publish more prices is explained under prices.
Tell us about your car and your question in your own words. We will reply without technical jargon and with the price, with no obligation.
